TURKEY CHILI

A must try recipe

2 tbsp vegetable oil

3 medium onions, chopped

6 medium garlic cloves,chopped

1/4 cup chili powder

1/4 cup tomato paste

1 tbsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

salt

1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes

2 lbs ground turkey

2 (15.5 ounce) cans dark kidney beans,rinsed and drained

1 (28-ounce) tomato puree

2-4 tbsp minced chipotle in adobo sauce

3 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp minced fresh oregano leaves or 1 tsp dried

1 tbsp brown sugar

ground black pepper

Lime wedges for serving

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering but not smoking. Add the onions ,garlic chili powder,tomato paste,cumin,pepper flakes, and 1/4 tsp salt and cook until the onions are softened and lightly browned 10-15 minutes.

Stir in the diced tomatoes with their juice,scraping up any browned bits. Add in the rest of the spices Cover and cook in low heat  for about 1 hour.

In another pan saute the ground turkey ad a little salt and then add to the sauce.Cook for another 1 hour in low heat until the turkey is tender and chili flavorful.Add beans.Season with salt and pepper and serve witj lime wedges
