1/2 cup cider vinegar

1/2 cup soy sauce

2 bay leaf

6 peppercorns,whole

3 clove garlic,minced

1 tbsp ginger julienned

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 medium onion,sliced

2 lbs beef cut into cubes or beef neck bones

Combine all the ingredients except the beef and oil in a saucepan that is not aluminum. Add the beef and marinate overnight.

Remove the beef and reserve the sauce. In a skillet, heat the oil and brown the beef on all sides.

Add the sauce and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes, or until the beef is tender.

Serve with rice, Makes 4-6 servings
