1-1/2 lb beef chunks
1-2 tbsp soy sauce
1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes
3 potatoes, quartered
mixed bell peppers
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp 5 spice
1-1/2 tsp sugar
Heat pot, pour cooking oil and saute garlic, laurel and onion until fragrant.
Add beef and cook until lightly brown, about 10 minutes. Season with paprika,soy sauce, oyster sauce ,salt and pepper , 5 spice, chicken bouillon,star anise.Stir.
Pour tomato sauce. Let it simmer over low heat for about 1 hour
As long as you simmer it in low heat, no need to use water.
Add potatoes and bell pepper. Cover and stir occasionally to prevent
scorching at the bottom.Stir and continue cooking until vegetables are tender.
