PANDESAL -2


1 packet active yeast

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/4 cups lukewarm water

1/2 cup sugar

2 tsp vegetable shortening

3-31/2 bread flour

plain bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 250F

In a bowl, combine the water.sugar,salt and shortening. Add the yeast and flour and mix well. The dough should just hold together. Add more flour or water if needed to get the correct consistency.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until it is smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 to 1/12 hours or until doubled in bulk.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 20-24 balls. Form into ovals and roll in the bread crumbs. place on baking sheets and let rise until doubled in size again, about 1 11/2 hours.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm…
